Chai Tea Masala

Masala chai is a tea beverage made by boiling black tea in water & milk with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices with a definite need for sugar to offset the toasty bitterness. Originating in the Indian subcontinent, the beverage has gained worldwide popularity.

  •  YIELD: 2 cups/servings

Preparing Chai

  • 2 cups water

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 regular black tea bags (Orange Pekoe recommended)

  • 1 tsp Ashi’s Rasoi Chai Masala

  • 3 tsp (or to taste) sugar

  1. Bring water to boil in a pot.

  2. Add Ashi’s Rasoi Chai Masala and boil for another 2 minutes.

  3. Add tea bags and let it boil for another 2 minutes.

  4. Then add milk and bring to boil and remove from heat.

  5. Strain the chai and serve hot.
